Protection systems

The design of an appropriate protection and control system is one of the most critical tasks required to successfully deliver an electrical installation project.

Understanding the different protection schemes for the various parts of the transmission and distribution systems (generation sites, transformers, feeders, etc.) is crucial to the success of the project.  Our designers have an advanced understanding of the various protection relays and their functionality.

BPI engineers perform detailed designs of protection schemes based on clients' standards and scheme specifications.  We can also provide full technical specifications for all parts of the system (CTs, VTs, cables, etc.) on behalf of the client.  It is essential that all electric networks are protected against failures in their electrical power system through the isolation of any faulted part.  We can ensure that your protection system safeguards assets and ensures uninterrupted supply.

The components of a safe and reliable protection system are made up of, but not limited to, current and voltage transformers, circuit breakers, auxiliary supplies, telecommunications equipment, control circuits, and protective devices such as relays, auto reclosers and monitoring equipment for post event analysis.  At BPI we understand the importance of safeguarding each and every one.
